David Valentine

David Valentine was called to be pastor of Huntsville’s First Baptist Church on September 9, 2001 and began to serve in that position on September 26, 2001. He brings to First Baptist twenty-one years of experience serving as a Minister to Youth, Minister of Education, and as a Pastor. The last thirteen years he has served as the lead pastor. David is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University (B.B.A.), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv.), and has taken doctoral seminars at Southwestern in pursuing a Doctor of Ministry Degree.  He is the recipient of the 2005 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award for the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. David will tell you that his greatest asset for ministry is his wife of nearly seventeen years, Bronwyn. Bronwyn is a Fifth Grade teacher at Huntsville Intermediate. They have a daughter, Hannah, who is also a student at Huntsville Intermediate. The Valentines enjoy outdoor activities, reading, and playing games with Hannah. David’s favorite Bible passages are Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" and Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Our pastor has a deep desire to see God’s people exhibit the love of Christ to everyone. He strives to be a resource to help each person and each family fulfill all that the Lord wants to accomplish in and through their lives.
