Amanda Largent
Minister to Preschool & Children

Amanda LargentAmanda came to Huntsville in August of 2002 as a graduate student at Sam Houston State University to pursue a master’s degree in Forensic Science. Prior to SHSU, Amanda attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX for one year and received her Bachelor of Science in Genetics from Texas A&M University in College Station in May 2002. Amanda came to know the Lord as a young child and was active in GA’s, children’s choir, Acteen’s, and youth at her home church. She served on the youth council and was involved in missions. Amanda began working in Vacation Bible School as a youth worker in 7th grade and served in many capacities in that ministry at FBC Shallowater. Amanda was called into the ministry during the early fall of 2004 and has been on staff at First Baptist since November 2004. Amanda’s high school yearbook has a note from her family giving her the scripture from Proverbs 31:30 to use as a pattern in her life. That scripture reads, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Amanda strives to make the Lord first place in her life and has a very strong desire to show the love of Christ through her actions to those with whom she comes in contact. She has enormous energy and is very eager to use innovative methods to reach children and their families for Christ.
